What is a punctuation checker?
A punctuation checker is a tool that finds and fixes punctuation mistakes in your writing. It looks at commas, full stops, apostrophes, semicolons, colons, quotation marks and question marks. This one returns your text with the fixes in place, followed by a short note on each change it made.
What are the most common punctuation mistakes?
Missing commas after an opening phrase, commas that join two full sentences, and apostrophes in plurals, like "apple's" for "apples". Mixing up "its" and "it's" is another. Reading your text out loud helps: a natural pause often means a comma, and a full stop ends one complete thought.
